Having joined the Bank as a Management Trainee in 2011, I have been given the privilege of gaining on-the job working experience in several departments of the Bank since I have rotated from one department to another, as part of the management trainee training programme. The areas that I have covered range from Treasury unit, treasury back-office unit, finance unit, trade finance unit, central processing unit, credit administration unit, risk department, branch, project finance, cash management unit and corporate banking department. Initially the batch of management trainees were given a three months in-house training where we were briefed on different functions of the bank, the products and services offered, the processes to be followed, compliance and legal procedure etc. in order to be familiarized with the bank functions and requirements.Subsequently we were given three months training at each department/unit mentioned above where we were given on-the-job training of each function. At the end of the training programme I was later assigned to the Customer relationship management unit where I was given the task of managing the banks overall complaint handling procedure and the branch service quality assessment. I was also involved in the launch of the system based complaint tracking system and the initial assessment of the customer relationship management system.
