Title: Optical design for next-generation LIDAR sensorSupervisor: Prof. Wilhelm Stork, Institut für Technik der Informationsverarbeitung, KIT- Designed in non-sequential mode of Zemax the transmitter lens.- Achieved the energy distribution with an overlaid structure of microlens array and prisms.- Invented a noval concept of homogenizer based on concave-convex althernating structure.- Designed filling area with freeform surfaces based on Bézier curves to facilitate manufacturing.- Conducted laser safety calculation according to IEC 60825 for the designed lens.- Built an experimental setup for laser measurements with integrating sphere and oscilloscope.

Title: Surface Measurement System Combining Chromatic Confocal and Triangulation Principles- Designed in Zemax the hyperchromatic triangulation system.- Developed a complex merit function based on the measurement principle- Optimized both the illumination arm and the detection arm, each containing ten lens elements, which were produced and assembled.

Title: Investigation of liquid lens- Tested a mechanical zoom lens and two types of variable lenses commercially available.- Designed in Zemax several zoom systems without mechanical movement using variable lenses.- Designed in Zemax an extended depth of focus (EDOF) system using variable lenses.- Implemented the designed EDOF system through assembly of optical and mechanical partscontrolled by programs written in Python.
