Dion Bristow is a Chartered Principal Mechanical Engineer, SME, Business Director, and innovator with over 25 years of experience and proven track record in developing new and existing technologies for oil and gas and energy recovery and storage industries. His career is marked by a proven track record in leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex projects with exceptional precision and innovation.As a Founder and Director of C2 Technology (2017), a specialist engineering company providing energy recovery solutions and services tailored to meet the needs of its customers, Dion has been developing and designing a novel pressure to power modular energy conversion system (MECS) for the power range between 20 and 300kW. MECS integrates cutting-edge sealless high-speed turbomachines with gas-lubricated bearings and integrated permanent magnet motor/generator units. This innovative design not only reduces construction and maintenance costs but also enhances performance in diverse applications such as upstream gas energy recovery, bioLNG, supercritical CO2, and hydrogen fuel cell air compression.Prior to his role at C2 Technology, Dion held senior positions at TP Group (formerly Corac Group), where he was the technical lead on multi-million-pound Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contracts. These projects, funded by customers, Horizon 2020, Innovate UK, and BEIS, underscore ability to deliver complex solutions in challenging environments. During this time the projects Dion led included the fields of large-scale cryogenic energy storage, steam expander generators, oil field gas compression and natural gas energy recovery for customers including Spirax Sarco, BP, ENI S.p.A and Hilcorp.Dion holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Aerospace Engineering and is proficient in Solid Edge CAD and Ansys Workbench for comprehensive FEA and CFD analysis. He is adept at navigating regulatory frameworks and ensuring compliance with industry standards, including API, ASME, NACE, UL, ATEX Directive, and PED. He applies reliability engineering tools including FMEA, TRL assessment, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring robust design and operational integrity.Beyond his technical expertise, Dion is recognized for his strategic leadership, financial management, and ability to forge successful partnerships, driving business growth and positioning organisations at the forefront of technological advancement.
