As a Data Analyst, I was working with multiple small real estate companies. In terms of what I would do for these clients, I would maintain their data and troubleshoot any problems these brokers/clients would have. I would use Python to help clean their data, and over time I have found that Python scripts/functions were great to clean data.But most importantly, I was helping these companies set a new standard of how they see and manage their data. Most of the clients I was working with did not have standard data practices, and therefore my job was spent most of the time using excel and/or Python. But I have helped several small real estate brokerages better manage their data by teaching them standard data practices.

Data Science is a really important field in the world of Big Data. To be able to democratize data is an extremely important skill to have. Since August, I have worked very hard to be able to present data to clients in an interactive fashion that allows them to understand their own data. As an elected official, ASUWB members (Associated Students of the University of Washington - Bothell) have to represent all students, staff, alumni and administration of all three UW campuses. As a member of ASUWB, I constantly did research on how large groups of people in order to make an effective decision for the future students. Throughout my time in student government, I always treated the school as a business, and how my constituents would benefit from business decisions rather than emotional decisions. The way I found doing my research effectively, was through strong networking skills. Rather than doing surveys, I interviewed a large variety of people in a positive, upbeat way. Using percentages, I was able to provide data to the rest of the ASUWB team in order to make better decisions on a larger scale.
