I earned a B A in English Literature. It was a discipline which afforded me the opportunity to study English works that date back more than five centuries; writers not only from different parts of the world and time periods, but every major genre and style of writing as well. I also have a TESOL (Teacher of English to Students of Other Languages) Graduate Certificate.It was my natural curiosity that led me to accept the opportunity to live in a foreign country; an experience that fostered and cultivated dynamic problem solving skills as I navigated life working in a different culture. I lived abroad for five years and gained over three years of international teaching experience working with students of all ability levels helping them to meet American Standards in all content areas.As a Literature major my most important projects, to date, are two figurative language workbooks titled: An Introduction to Literary Forms Used in the Hebrew Bible, Literary Forms Used in the Book of Isaiah and one children's book called B Is for Bantu ABC’s; A book about the people and places of the Bantu Nation.Currently I am pursuing a role in Data Analytics. While literary analysis and data analysis may seem like two different domains, they share similarities when it comes to tools and techniques. For example, both approaches aim to uncover underlying patterns and themes. In SQL data exploration, analysts use queries and visualizations to identify trends, correlations, and patterns within the data. In literary analysis, a close reading helps reveal recurring motifs, symbols, and literary devices that contribute to the overall meaning and message of the text. Despite the differences in the subject matter (data vs. text), both data analyst SQL data exploration and literary analysis close reading of a text require a systematic and thoughtful approach to uncovering meaningful patterns and insights. Although the subject matter and sources may be different, the tools and analytical approaches in literary analysis and data analysis share common ground. My educational and professional background has contributed to refining essential critical thinking skills demanded in today’s workforce. And it is this intellectual disposition which will inevitably inform and govern my performance, making me uniquely qualified for the data analyst role.My long term goal is to obtain an MBA.
