Housing Support Worker
Current• Full Time staff.• Housing worker supporting over ninety live in residents with a variety of needs, and various levels of vulnerability and needs for daily living. • Effective communication competence, oral, written and observation; including De-escalation, CPI training, CPR/AED training, and Applied Suicide Intervention Training.• Case Management, when necessary, advocacy for a wide variety of services, and eviction prevention.• Main point of contact to facilitate colleagues such as PSW's, or other Case Managers who regularly meet their client's where they reside, as required.• Community development, connecting this community together acknowledging resident's birthdays with their consent; to enhance a sense of belonging in the community.• Reliably delivering meals to vulnerable residents daily, simultaneously doing a wellness check to ensure the health and wellbeing of community who may otherwise be isolated.• Distribution of medications to few susceptible inhabitants on site, to ensure people are adhering to their daily requirements, and intervene when they appear to be missing their daily schedule.• Collaborate with colleagues in the facility with alternative services for occupants and community members alike. Including a community kitchen, an I.D clinic, C.T.S. clinic, and connections to other service providers, such as mental health professionals.• Responsibly hand out harm reduction kits to ensure safe clean supplies to reduce harm in the community. These are given out to anyone who want them, including Naloxone kits.• Applied emergency response training as required. i.e. fire alarm procedures, refreshing other employees of this training when appropriate.• Assist those who require help cleaning their room or accompaniment to local appointments in the community. Resident’s needs are met where they are with support and encouragement.• Not for profit organization.
