In May 2004 I moved back up to the North West and took up my current post at St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust. As a team we provide high quality Orthoptic investigative, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the hospital and community clinics of St Helens and Knowsley.

I was based at St Albans Children’s Centre, a centre which combined both educational and health needs of children in the Hertfordshire area. I worked closely with the RNIB inclusion officer and Visually Impaired Teachers to provide support and a network to parents, schools and patients. I was also responsible for the provision of Orthoptic Services to two acute sites in West Hertfordshire. Hemel Hempstead Hospital St Albans Hospital. In addition to this I was responsible for the running of the Orthoptic Clinic at Harpenden Memorial Hospital.

I qualified in 2001 from The University of Liverpool and took up my first post as an Orthoptist at Salford Primary Care Trust. this included single handed sessions in the community and and acute settings, including assessment, diagnosis and management of both paediatric and adult referrals. I was responsible for the provision of primary vision screening in 34 schools out of 88.This included the organisational aspects and delivery of the service.
