About Dipendu Dhar

With a passion for finding novel therapeutics from plant metabolites, I work as a research assistant at Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry, where I apply data analytics, modeling, and simulation to complex biological data. Using Python, machine learning, and Linux, I identify potential drug targets and candidates from metabolomics and proteomics data, and perform in silico validation and optimization.I have a strong background in Pharmaceutical and Industrial Biotechnology, with a master's degree from The Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg. During my studies, I completed two projects in collaboration with renowned institutes, in which I demonstrated my skills and knowledge in bioinformatics and drug design. In one project, I found novel antibiotic compounds against bacterial lectin by high-throughput virtual screening, using various biological databases and molecular docking tools. In another project, I modeled HDAC 1 inhibitors using pharmacophoric features and validation methods. These projects enabled me to work in interdisciplinary teams and deliver results that have potential applications in medicine and biotechnology.
