Manufacturing Platform consists of group of systems which are used to automate manufacturing process of large set of products like Photobook, Card, Gift Items etc. This system accepts orders from the ‘order gateway(OG)’ and stores them in oracle 12g database. During order import, there are different layers involved that accepts all images uploaded by customer and renders images, which is used for printing on the press. Once the order is imported, it goes through different systems (Python & Java applications), which are indication of completion of unique operations like Rendering, Printing, Cutting, Consolidation and Shipping. There are 3 main system involved in it, Pasadena, Unity and Forge, each of which has unique features suitable for a specific set of products.Forge is a back-end processing system designed to facilitate the creation of finished impositions from supplied images and XML imposition templates. The supplied images may be raw or may have been pre-processed (arranged in a certain order, framed, captions added, etc.). Forge does not have a specific front end; it retrieves order data from a shared Oracle database instance and uses that order data to create the finished imposition. Other front-end software populates this shared database instance.

The solution is based on the open source Big Data s/w Hadoop. It is an American Express(AMEX) project. The purpose of the project is to perform the analysis on the Effectiveness and validity of controls and to store terabytes of log information generated by the source providers as part of the analysis and extract meaningful information out of it. The solution is based on the open source Big Data software Hadoop.
