We help veterans find their way to mental wellness, enabling them to experience a life of empowerment and peace, using an open water experience to reduce the resistance to seeking counseling services. We provide fishing charters to veterans while leveraging blue space to break through barriers and the stigma associated with seeking mental wellness counseling - then providing counseling on request. We see a future where mental wellness counseling is an essential, accessible tool to help our warriors cope with past experiences; ultimately creating mentally resilient veterans fully participating in their lives, and the lives of their families and friends.Stigma associated with seeking mental health counseling continues to plague our veterans, as suicide rate remains high. 200,000 military personnel transition out each year, with 44% of those transitioning stating they are not ready; many due to mental health reasons. The ability to calm, cope with, and conquer depression, suicidal ideations, and drug and alcohol addiction still seems to elude many of our veterans.We provide veterans a blue space experience on the Gulf of Mexico out of Clearwater Beach, FL. Each trip Has a credentialed counselor aboard. The veterans experience a peer group setting with other prior servicemembers on the open water. As they fish, there will be opportunities for organic discussions related to their service and experiences. The goal is to get the veterans on the open water to begin to reduce barriers and stigma related to mental health discussion in general, and more specifically seeking mental health counseling.

Leads security management and operations for a global organization responsible for security programs including personnel security; industrial security; physical security; information security, SCI security, emergency management; antiterrorism; continuity of operations (COOP); safety; facilities management; information assurance and IT help desk; payroll processing; purchasing and logistics; tasking management; travel management; and training management. Expanded the coverage of the Security and Protection Programs from only the Headquarters (100 personnel) to include 12 Program Executive Offices (5,500 personnel). Execution of these programs includes plan and policy development; training; vulnerability assessments and program compliance audits; and liaison with other Department of Defense organizations. Leads physical security programs for over 80 locations including assessment of CCTV coverage, lighting placement, intrusion detection system requirements and access control system operations. Plans and conducts comprehensive risk assessments and evaluations of organization-wide programs and other matters affecting mission accomplishment. Assesses organizational structures, internal controls, procedures, and utilization of manpower and resources for optimal application for the mission. Prepares reports of inspection and documents findings of inspections conducted. Builds, trains and leads assessment and inspection teams through all phases. Oversees the manning and budgetary issues related to the Protection and Security Programs. Advises program managers on methods to achieve compliance through strategies that minimize risk and vulnerabilities. Directs drafting of assessment/mitigation reports for circulation to senior leaders. Develops risk management strategy and policy to protect mission critical functions. Coordinates intelligence collection and fusion for dissemination to Program Executive Offices.

• Liaised at the senior executive level with US Embassy, NATO, US Central Command and Government of Afghanistan on all matter related to trade and property management during execution of NATO mission.• Executed turnover of thirty-three NATO bases and airfields in Afghanistan to the government of Afghanistan in a very compressed timeline. Coordinated with representatives from over 20 countries to ensure all parties’ interests were identified and addressed. • Managed the destruction of over 17,000 pieces of equipment not being turned over to the Afghan government. Additionally, oversaw the turnover of over 1 million items from the 33 bases. • Worked directly with the Afghan offices of the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Defense, as well as 18 countries supporting the NATO mission to reduce the incidents of seized cargo. Through liaison with the Afghan government Michael imposed the requirements of the Status of Forces Agreement, and the Afghan government’s own procedures, to free frustrated cargo, and reduce the incidents of seized cargo. Michael also provided training and awareness to the 18 countries on required processes and documentation, as well as proper licensing of their supporting contractors. As a result of his actions, over $120 million in frustrated cargo was released, and allowed to proceed on to NATO possession. Additionally, within 40 days of Michael implementing new procedures, incidents of delayed cargo reduced by 80%.

• Determined the Force Protection procedures for the largest US facility in Afghanistan were outdated and created vulnerabilities. Within 10 days of assuming role, executed an assessment and gap analysis of the existing conditions and implemented changes to enhance the security posture, and bring the location in compliance with existing regulations and local orders. These changes updated badging, screening, and entry procedures; measures to strengthen defensive positions; and repositioning key surveillance and detection equipment. • Led 100 personnel, from 7 different countries, to sustain 24 hour operations at the Entry Control Point, developing and executing training on the new procedures. • Earned personal commendations from the Commander, Bagram Airfield and the Commander, Area Support Group-Afghanistan for the improvements made under his watch. As a result of his attention to detail and focus on efficiency, logistics operations through the Entry Control Point were uninterrupted during his entire tenure; and the base maintained a secure posture and was free from infiltration or attack.• Coordinated with over 12 organizations and conducted over 100 physical security site inspections to harden existing structures housing personnel and critical operations. As a result, directed the placement of over 1000 T-walls and bunkers to protect personnel and critical assets on Bagram Airfield. Hardened all structures within 30 days of project initiation, with no interruption of critical operations.

Conducted rigorous and objective analysis of current and proposed policies, regulations, plans, and other special study topics to support the Agency decision-making and ensure Agency-wide management of initiatives, priorities and programs. Served as a member of the commission to study Pentagon shooting and develop lesson-learned and improved procedures. Participated in numerous task forces to study issues related to law enforcement and antiterrorism to acquire lessons learned and develop courses of action to assist the Agency in refining its operations.

As a founder and co-owner, facilitated the development and establishment of this start-up security company; overseeing strategic planning, business development, operations planning and resource management. Developed and cultivated key business relationships.

Spearheaded a team of 20 personnel, leading in plan development, antiterrorism andphysical security operations and assessments, customer relations management and agency training and awareness programs. Planned and led security and antiterrorism assessments. Provided subject matter expertise for international DoD conferences. Conducted key coordination with Northern Command, Strategic Forces Command and the Pentagon Force Protection Agency. Developed and implemented international antiterrorism strategy, plans and policy for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), including the first ever antiterrorism plan for MDA which serves as the primary antiterrorism document, upon which all MDA locations base antiterrorism planning and training.
