About Dirk Lund Christensen

I mainly do research in low and middle income country settings. Among others, the populations I study include indigenous people. I am especially interested in physiological adaptation to different environmental exposure ranging from the physical environment (f.ex. altitude), and lifestyle such as physical activity and nutrition. Also included as an interest is the association between communicable and non-communicable diseases. Organs/tissues of interest are the skeletal muscle, the liver, the kidneys, the heart and the pancreas.
