Sole responsibility for global hedge fund strategy formulation in a multi-asset class context reporting to Global Chief Investment Strategist. Conceptualized, developed and ran top-down driven hedge fund asset allocation approach, which was firmly integrated in global multi-asset class investment process of Deutsche Bank, Private Wealth Management. Responsible for proprietary quantitative and qualitative hedge fund research whilst leveraging DB’s world class investment bank research for non-hedge fund asset classes. Leading formalized interaction with bottom-up driven hedge fund analysts facilitated by globally integrated hedge fund group and direct personal work experience within DB’s Hedge Fund Group during prior international assignment in London. In-depth knowledge of hedge fund industry and well connected to renowned hedge fund managers. Sitting on several investment committees including ICs for internally managed funds of hedge funds (UCITS III FOF, Traditional FOFs, Managed Accounts based FOF) and asset allocation committees. Responsible for hedge fund index style weightings in cooperation with DB’s investment bank unit. Conceptualized, developed and maintained asset allocation tools to translate global house view into portfolios tailored to clients’ risk preferences. International assignment within DB’s expat program. Initially teamed up with Chief Investment Strategist for International to run global hedge fund strategy and one billion plus in-house fund of hedge funds. Took over responsibility for global hedge fund strategy formulation in July 2008. Covered renowned hedge fund managers in dual role as hedge fund analyst and strategist reporting to Global Head of Hedge Fund Investments. Carried out investment due diligence and gathered knowledge of operational due diligence via external service providers. Built tight links to London financial community in general and hedge fund community in particular. Gathered hands-on experience in liquidity management in times of intense market distress during GFC.

Responsible for alternative investment research reporting to Global Chief Investment Strategist. Research and publications mainly related to hedge funds but also to private equity, commodities, passive FX strategies, and quantitative fixed income products. In charge of discretionary asset allocation for index based alternative investment funds. Built macro-econometric models to forecast financial variables. Gathered in-depth knowledge of applied financial econometrics, performance measurement, and quantitative asset allocation techniques. Helped to introduce state-of-the-art macro-economic thinking into economic analysis and investment process.
