As Program Manager I managed the continuous improvement of Emmtec Engineering byimplementation of the improvement program according to the lean method. Key methods used are Strategy A3, Hoshin Kanri, improvement A3, Kaizen, value stream mapping, Kata and 5S. The program was successfully executed for both the financial and quality processes. I also introduced and improved the ERP system for Engineering, called Eureka. Furthermore I improved during this period the processes at the planning department (bedrijfsbureau) and the secretary department.Besides that, I was also the QHSE coordinator. During this period we passed the OHSAS 18001 certification without any complain, did the recertification of ISO 9001:2008 and VCA ** and implemented the SCA540 (Asbestos) in our systems.

Emmtec Engineering is a multi discipline industrial Engineering Company, with focuses on Chemistry, Energy- and Fiber related technologies. Multi discipline means: Project- and Construction management, Proces Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Proces Automation and Civil engineering. As Manager I was responsible for the whole business. During this turbulent period (The crises started) Emmtec Engineering had between 80 and 120 employees. Key issues during this period where: creating new markets at Nuon PHS, cost reduction and implementation of the program “Fit for the future”. Besides that, also programs were started for improving quality and financial transparency

At the start (1999) the policy was, to outsource the detailed engineering. I changed that to in house Engineering, witch give us far better control on the processes and a major quality improvement. In 1999 the Process Automation department did only consulting. We changed that, also driven by creating new markets, in a department with both consulting and hands-on knowledge.
