I started out as an auto mechanic, became a machinist and fabricator building food service equipment. It was a great career for a mechanically minded person like myself. As I matured, I realized that I needed more, so I returned to school and recieved a degree in business from the local junior college. It was tough on my growing family, but in the long term I knew it would be worth it. Shortly after my graduation I was promoted to production supervisor, which was great for a while, but the need for newer and complex challenges kept me hungry. I had always been interested in how and why things worked, so with the advent of the PC, I began to learn about computers and networking, which led to my MCSE status through Microsoft. Recieving that credential opened an opportunity to be the IT "guy" at my current employer, which in turn opened up the opportunity to the sales engineer position. I currently do both jobs full time, and also managed to recieve my bachelors degree via a distance learning university. Although I have been with the same company for the bulk of my career, I have held several different positions, with numerous duties and responsibilities. Although I have done well at my current employer, I feel the need to move on and try something completely different.
