After identifying information gaps, navigation issues, etc., designed, proposed then built knowledge hubs that reduced the time it takes development teams to locate and utilize technical information. Six month project: Developed storyboards and design concepts for client-facing training videos in Fidelity’s Stock Plan Services (SPS). The work involves research, interviewing subject matter experts (SME), writing, editing, and recording the voice-overs prior to handing the material to the graphics/animator team. Tools include Camtasia, smartsheets, MS Office and others.

Short-term projects: ----------------------> Wrote position papers for a defense contractor to guide Congress and technical articles to inform both academia and industry on the topic of electronic warfare and electromagnetic spectrum operations. > Developed a cybersecurity policy and procedure document to meet the demands and recommendations of the U.S. Department of Defense and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST SP 800-171) and the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). > Developed content for both online and print to explain the launch of a new 501(c)(3) research institute for electromagnetic environment operations.

12 month project to capture the knowledge of Subject Matter Experts (SME) who develop and maintain complex financial systems within Chase Paymentech before the business unit relocates to Tampa. The documentation artifacts that we created (reference documents, PowerPoint presentations, diagrams/charts, Quizzes, Surveys, voice-overs, et al) will be used to train both new hires as well as internal staff shifting into new roles. During a 12 month project, evaluated existing technical writing and publishing procedures and systems for Fidelity Investments Pricing & Cash Management Services (FPCMS) Business Unit. Designed improved guides and training procedures. Performed technical writing, editing and publication services. Also provided strategic input for the impending move to a Cloud-based reference system.

Developed technical documentation procedures and content for an internal platform-as-a-service (PaaS) technology layer to which different Fidelity divisions write software applications. Designed, edited and published a newsletter carrying news of the technology to the company's internal partners. Oversaw intranet portal to share information and communications with Fidelity business units. Developed monthly portal access statistics to identify trends. Analyzed and designed new UX concept for the portal that reduced navigational issues. Utilized JIRA to manage the efforts.

Established consulting business to help transfer technical or otherwise arcane knowledge from in-house to those outside who need it – and who are often not as technically aware. Joined with a research colleague’s companion study and was published by the CIA's internal journal "Studies in Intelligence" December 2014. GoDaddy:Interviewed, researched and wrote customer success case studies; ghost-wrote explanations on technical topics for GoDaddy.com website, GigaOM.com, and ElliotsBlog.com; performed industry research, analysis, and prepared presentations. Network World Magazine:Award-winning technical writer for the IT industry. Beats include cyber security, system management, web-hosting and software research at the National Security Agency (NSA).VisiTrend, LLC:Provided proposal writing, Marketing/Communications services, and corporate relationship development for a company under contract to the US Air Force Research Laboratory.

Wrote winning cyber security software development proposals landing $850,000.00 in Defense contracts from the U.S. DoD. Managed all marketing, communications, industry and government relations. Created all documentation including online, print, website, and presentations. Won US Air Force Innovation Success award.

Launched company and directed all marketing, communications, advertising, and industry relations tasks while overseeing development, launch, and support of the world’s first automated system crash prevention, recovery, and diagnostic software. Later introduced complementary enterprise system management software. Traveled throughout the US as well as to Canada, Europe, and Asia giving presentations and fostering relations. Sought and won numerous press and industry awards. Became the primary industry source for the domestic and international press to get information regarding our technology niche. With the advent of the Web in the mid-1990s created the company’s first web site and HTML manuals. Developed technical training class scripts and materials. Voted “Presidents’ Recommendation” for public presentations of technology by user group presidents. Traveled as Delegate with Governor of New Hampshire to Europe in dual role to promote the State’s software industry relations and to promote Alexander LAN relations. Also worked with Governor’s office and the US Department of Commerce to foster relations with other countries.

Redesigned company literature for complex software development tools which reduced public confusion and increased sales. Increased press coverage 8x through new combined MarCom – PR program. Developed Press Campaign based on “Ingredient Branding” that sought press coverage for licensees that drew added coverage to Phar Lap. Worked with press to create some of the PC industry’s first awards (several later earned by Phar Lap).
