A BANKER TURNED FASHION ENTREPRENEUR WITH A SOLID TRACK RECORD OF DEVELOPING IDEAS INTO PRODUCTS, BRANDS AND BUSINESSES.Dirk started his professional career with Commerzbank in Cologne and later studied Finance and Management at Frankfurt School and University of California Santa Barbara.Since 2005 he lives and works in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. For 17 years Dirk was Group CEO of Melinda Looi Group. During this time in the Malaysian fashion industry Dirk has worked with and created very diverse brands ranging from Couture collections to organic cotton basic lines to ready-to-wear export brands and muslimah wear labels. His 360 approach to management makes him a rare manager, who understands the trade from design to production, marketing and distribution as well as through the scope of latest technologies, finance and strategy. SUNSHINE INTERNATIONAL GROUPToday Dirk is heading Sunshine International Group a diversified company with interests in fashion, work wear, healthcare and the interior design. He also advises and collaborates with both local and global brands and companies. On a pro-bono basis Dirk is helping and advising creative companies, young designers and fashion start ups to establish a profitable business model. He is also an Executive Advisor to the Malaysian Official Designers' Association (MODA) and a founding member of the Global Fashion Council (GFC).
