To finance my vocal study and engage in a number of auditions I went back to work with this great company in Los Angeles, where I formerly served as interim CFO. I have chosen to take on a much subdued role, to allow my body and brain enough time and energy for the music outside a 9-5 'day job'. Stepped into this role when my colleague had to suddenly depart. Expanded management over Corporate Accounting, assisting with European VAT analyses; overseeing month-end closings; corporate reporting, etc.

Managed a staff of 10 Dutch employees covering all aspects of agency and client accounting for the agency's European and global clients. Worked with Arthur Anderson to set up the first agency-wide Budgeting system. Assisted the CFO on ad-hoc projects, analyses and process improvements.

Managed a group of financial and project accountants and supervisors handling the agency's production and media services. Began to review client contracts under the CFO; went to Philadelphia to help put out fires in the summer of '93 and continued witnessing the explosive growth of Nike and the agency.

The east-coast operation was experiencing issues that needed assistance. I worked there in-office over the 3-months to help get the Accounting dept back to health...unfortunately the agency had to close and I was given the inglorious task of helping transfer all of the client financial business from Philly to Portland, while watching a pretty wonderful bunch of 65 staff get terminated. This was hard and not fun work, but all part of the awesome W+K experience.

Learned the finance/accounting ropes in the fast-growing, crazy wonderful Portland office touching everything from agency finance to production and client-project accounting, media accounting....Additionally I helped initiate the first Traffic department; aided in setting up Broadcast production financial processes; fined-tuned the agency's corporate travel processes with our awesome Travel Director Colleen; and drank too much on the weekends!
