For almost 7 years the "Exemplary Building" project was the most innovative project on sustainable construction within the Brussels Capital Region. The results attract delegations from all over the world. The “Exemplary Building” calls for projects aimed to demonstrate that achieving excellent energy and environmental performances is possible and relevant even within a reasonable financial budget. Almost 250 projects were selected, which stand for 630.000m² sustainable buildings and 35 million… Show more For almost 7 years the "Exemplary Building" project was the most innovative project on sustainable construction within the Brussels Capital Region. The results attract delegations from all over the world. The “Exemplary Building” calls for projects aimed to demonstrate that achieving excellent energy and environmental performances is possible and relevant even within a reasonable financial budget. Almost 250 projects were selected, which stand for 630.000m² sustainable buildings and 35 million Euros of financial support.Encourage Brussels property owners and real estate developers to hand in their renovation or construction projects for selection by the Exemplary Building – Jury. The last call in 2013 was the most succesfull, with more than 70 projects competing. Show less

Max Havelaar Belgium aims to create a bigger market for Fairtrade certified products by increasing supply and demand on the Belgian market. This gives producers and workers in the south the opportunity to improve their lives and plan for their future. When I started at Max Havelaar there was only one certified product (coffee), mostly sold in alternative circuits. Max Havelaar succeeded to leave this pioneer status behind and became mainstream. When I started at Max Havelaar there was only one certified product (coffee), mostly sold in alternative circuits. Max Havelaar succeeded to leave this pioneer status behind and became mainstream. The offer expanded to at least 10 different product categories, from 30 to more than 1000 certified products, available in all FMCG retailers and the out of home market. I contributed to this evolution through different roles.The last 3 years I led the communication team and was responsible for the development and implementation of the communication strategy and involved in general management.Some results:• In 2008 and 2009 Max Havelaar achieved the best results, since the start in 1990, in terms of market growth and brand awareness (25% marketgrowth in a FMCG market that showed no growth).• Agreement for an international collaboration with Max Havelaar Netherlands and Max Havelaar France at communication level.• Agreement with three other Belgian ngo's for a long-term support to the FairTradeTowns campaign (www.fairtradegemeenten.be) and extending the concept to Belgian provinces.• Repositioning the campaign Commune du Commerce Equitable (www.cdce.be).• Recruitment of various campaign coordinators.
