About Dirk Verbeek

With many years of experience working for IT companies with innovative ideas and products, I dedicate my time to software solutions for civil society. The leitmotiv in my career is offering information technology to make our world a healthier and safer place.This may seem a mile away from my original trade, GIS, but it is not. Information technology can be applied to pursue many goals. During my time with Tensing, bringing geospatial technology to the world of public safety was my best-spent time. Tensing brought me the opportunity to work in many other geographies, including successfully building out their presence in the USA. A combination of a technical background, broad international business development experience and appreciation for working with Americans, made me join Intermedix (now R1). The company's motto is a direct match with what I think is truly valuable: serving those who save lives. They do so by offering a state-of-the-art IT portfolio to the global healthcare industry. It was my job to help Intermedix develop an international strategy and generate a viable and sustainable business on that basis. At Topicus, we create software to empower citizens, and make them more resilient. Our solutions shorten the path between people's questions and needs, and action that offers a real-world answer.
