The aspect of my IT career that I have enjoyed the most has been working with teams to create, improve and deliver a project or process. It is so satisfying to bring everyone together and agree upon what we're trying to do, organize the work and get it done on time. Along the way I've honed my soft skills to be able to work with highly diversified folks, including offshore teams, and I've mentored 25+ individuals in not just job requirements but also on how to be a professional in the business world. One of my passions is organizing and improving. Nothing engages me like recognizing a need or a problem and finding a solution, either for external partners or internal management. I saved $6 million by finding a glitch in a commissions process, and my work avoided $1.2 million annual rework costs by identifying and correcting a messaging error. I'm the one who translates what the business needs to the technical people, and then explains to the business what is technically possible and less-possible. I find it easy to communicate with both technical and non-technical people and bridge gaps in understanding. I am recognized for that skill and I am often called upon to use it.Prior to moving into program/project management, I was a software developer and this experience has given me insight into managing development and testing teams and enabled me to help them overcome challenges. I'm practiced with both waterfall and Agile methodology project management.I've worked in multiple industries including:- telecommunications- forest products - consumer labeling- ophthalmology products. Key accomplishments:- I saved over $7.2 million by process improvement, research and tenacious testing- I developed a new a process to reduce retail store system entry to 5 minutes instead of 24-48 hours- I developed a new work intake system to reduce needed headcount from 8 to 2 people- I managed over 40 clients in over 400 projects to completion
