The field encompassing emergency and crisis management, homeland security, and business continuity is critical for ensuring the resilience of families, communities, government services, non-profits, and private sector businesses. So what we do matters and I am grateful to be apart of that. I ended up in the field by a twist of fate and now, my broad experience across all sectors has given me the insight and expertise to help the organizations I work with to become more resilient. I am passionate about preventing and mitigating the effects of disasters and preparing the whole community to respond and recover from them. Having developed programs at government agencies, organizations, and the private sector at all levels, combined with extensive real-world experience, has given me insights. into best practices, risk avoidance, and organizational and staff development that few possess. I am solutions-oriented with integrity, loyalty, and a drive for continuous improvement. And this is probably the key to my success in each role I take on. Truly partnering with stakeholders, community residents, and my team members are what motivates me to continuously improve in this ever-evolving industry. It's the people—whether employees, vendors, contractors, field engineers, or community members--that impact operations and results. A few accomplishments I'm proud of include: • Grew division and organization from two employees and $50K in revenue to 30 employees with $12M in revenue in two years using strategies and programs to drive development at General Physics Corporation. • Achieved industry recognition by conceiving and pioneering new planning processes, now becoming an industry standard; co-authored major Federal assessments and after-action reports at The Olson Group. • Successfully launched Government Technologies Group, a new startup, by leveraging technical knowledge, industry experience, and relationships across industries to position as an innovator in technology and service solutions. • Slashed overall operating costs 40% and increased revenue 400% in the first three years by instituting new fiscal policies and a consultative approach to sales at Previstar, Inc. • Appointed by New York Governor to help the Port Authority recover from the 9/11 World Trade Center attack by building an emergency management program to protect trillions in critical infrastructure, focusing on homeland security.
