Discovery Camp is a non-profit summer day program run by the Recreation and Culture Department of the Town of Hinton. Every day, we serve 40-50 children ranging in age from 5 to 12 years old. Our goal is to provide them with new opportunities and activities that are educational and fun. In addition to this goal, the program intends to develop self-confidence, provide valuable hands-on learning, opportunities to tackle challenges, and experiences that cultivate creativity and imagination.This summer, we are also adding a Sports Camp to our line-up as a pilot project. This camp is targeted at 8-13 year olds who are looking for an additional challenge beyond Discovery Camp. Our goal is to enhance their physical literacy skills through hands-on learning through various sports and active adventures.We work hard to provide a valuable and accountable service to the community, and believe that all members of our town can play an active role in children’s lives. We are proud of what we offer and the community support we receive. Discovery Camp aims to provide all participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to become active and capable leaders in the Hinton community.
