My passion is building sophisticated technology. More important than building things, I like to get things done. I’m a zen master during crisis management and excel when the path is not clear. By breaking down ambiguous problems and projects into discrete tasks, I’m able to lead teams to resolution through clear vision.I specialize in leading projects from concept - development - completion. As the Systems Engineer for the Long Wavelength Array Radio Telescope project, I designed the analog receiver subsystem, and lead the effort to build and commission the first station of the LWA. I’ve built science-grade multispectral imaging systems for remote sensing research, developed automated RF test systems, lead new product development, and steered the technical direction of companies. My engineering teams have launched a DJ loudspeaker into mass-production in record time, invented a fast-switching, radio agnostic RF amplifier system, and published first-light science papers with a telescope we built. I’ve worked on designing RFID transceivers, software-defined radio systems, automated test equipment, digital mixers and speakers for pro audio, and many more successful projects. I’m inspired by, and looking for, THE NEXT BIG THING. My ideal position is a challenging and rewarding mix of team leadership and individual contribution. My core skills are in RF design, automated test and measurement, data reduction and visualization, embedded systems development, hardware systems engineering and technical project management. My focus is on making data-driven decisions on engineering and technical problems for strategic business success. I can write software; I can design hardware; but my highest value is in figuring out what needs to be done, and driving teams towards the end goal.
