CPU Performance Modeling Team- Implemented pipeline design features on a cycle-approximate model written in C++. - Collaborated closely with the Extension Processing Unit (EPU) design team, investigating opportunities for improved M-class Vector Extension (MVE) execution performance in the EPU. - Modeled datapath pipes for MVE instructions and carried out an extensive study into the effectiveness of introducing an additional pipe for increased MVE overlap opportunity. - Modeled RAW hazarding and write-port resource hazarding for the core- Identified and resolved miscorrelation between the model and the RTL design- Wrote microbenchmarks to assess performance of feature implementations.- Presented a talk on proposed EPU optimizations to the CPU division.

Setup boards, modified and loaded firmware to the boards for testing- Developed and used Python and Tcl scripts to stress test the MAC hardware. - Undertook the development of a hardware based debug tool for extraction of hardware signals internal to the MAC core. - Programmed the hardware to set up debug, extracting debug data, parsing it to display signal data in the form of a VCD waveform.
