As a journalism student deeply committed to advancing human rights, I am dedicated to leveraging my skills to foster positive change. With 6 months of invaluable experience interning for MP Gary Anandasangaree and currently serving as a Student Leadership Program intern for the Minister of Tourism, I am honing my expertise in political communication, government relations, and public service.During my tenure supporting MP Anandasangaree, I actively managed social media platforms, conducted in-depth research, and coordinated impactful events. This role provided me with a profound insight into governmental operations and the intricate processes involved in crafting and executing policies that cater to the diverse needs of communities. Through my contributions, I actively championed advocacy initiatives and campaigns centered around equity, justice, and the protection of human rights.With a robust academic background in journalism, I possess a solid foundation in writing, editing, and multimedia storytelling, coupled with a nuanced understanding of the media's pivotal role in shaping public discourse and policy outcomes. Additionally, my involvement with the Liberal Party, both as an intern and as VP Federal and Communication Chair of Carleton University's Young Liberals, has equipped me with essential skills in political communication, campaign strategy, and public relations.Driven by my unwavering commitment to human rights, social justice, and environmental sustainability, I firmly believe in the transformative potential of government in advancing these critical causes.
