Hello and welcome to my profile!My name is Diva and I was born in Cuba, and at the age of 4 moved to the US with my family. I got my start in photography at the age of 15 when I was gifted a Nikon D3000, since then I've viewed life through a lens and loved it all. I am experienced in both the hospitality and photographic industries. My journey began at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida where I completed a Disney College Program Internship in 2014. In 2015, I began assisting photographers locally and decided to pursue a career in the photo field. After gaining high volume photography experience while working as a PhotoPass Photographer at Magic Kingdom, I decided to further pursue photography by moving to New York in 2017. Since then I've been pursuing a degree in Commercial Photography from LaGuardia Community College where I've had the pleasure of furthering my photographic studies through various academic endeavors. Some of my favorite photography to make includes portraiture, event, and boudoir. I am able to shoot both outdoors and in a studio setting. I am also versed with various lighting systems both strobe and continuous. I've worked with a long list of camera systems including but not limited to: Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic, Hasselblad, Fujifilm... Digitally, I've learned how to efficiently use Adobe software for my work: PhotoShop, LightRoom, Bridge, PremierePro, InDesign. I also enjoy the analog experience and carry it into the darkroom where I develop black and white film and experiment with different printing techniques such as solarization. My admiration for cameras sparked a joy for creating moving images and I have immersed myself in the process of filmmaking. I am able to set up light for video, livestream, editing/sound matching, and camera operating. I've been lucky enough to be a part of group art installations in NY where I learned the joys of sharing your art with others. I hope someday we can create something together!
