One of my most minor favourite childhood periods was when either myself, a friend, or family members fell ill. I was keen on keeping everybody healthy for as long as possible because of the pain, rigour, and various ill-health difficulties. Because of that, I developed an early interest in healthcare. I had a lot of respect and admiration for the healthcare professionals, such as doctors and nurses, who do all they can to ensure patients are back in good health. I was convinced that would be the most fulfilling and impactful career path. As a practicing dental therapist, I have utilized my knowledge and experience to identify some health problems promoting ill health in Nigeria: poor remuneration of health workers, brain and inequitable distribution of healthcare resources, emerging and reemerging infections, and poor quality healthcare.
