Established in 2005, The Robotics and Machine Intelligence Club is one of the prestigious clubs of National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. At present the club hosts ten research projects covering various fields ranging from image processing, inverse kinematics, SLAM to artificial intelligence. We aim to research on new ideas in the field of Robotics and Machine Learning. We propose to do so by undertaking research projects that demands innovation,formulation of algorithms and materialize our ideas.

Development an advanced software interface using ROS and KIVY for a 37 Degrees of Freedom (DOF) Humanoid Robot, designed to enhance both the user experience and the robot's operational capabilities in demanding environments, such as rough terrains and confined spaces.The software architecture allows for the dynamic adjustment of motor speeds to adapt to real-time conditions, ensuring smooth and safe maneuvering. It features a responsive command interruption system and an emergency stop function, providing robust safety mechanisms during operation. The emergency stop functionality is designed to instantly halt all motor functions in response to potential hazards, preventing accidents and minimizing damage in critical situations. This feature can be activated manually or automatically, based on sensor feedback, providing an immediate response to unforeseen obstacles or system anomalies.To maximize situational awareness, the interface integrates data from a LiDAR, an IMU, and seven other live sensors, all of which are visualized in a user-friendly GUI.This solution not only enables efficient control and monitoring but also supports rapid decision-making by displaying critical sensor data in real-time, making it a valuable tool for navigating and performing tasks in complex and unpredictable environments.

Brain’s parallel computation is reconstructed to build a 6 DOF Cognitive Arm that can check for the fitness of the hole in manufacturing parts. The visual transformer is used to track the ROI and group similar objects. Later, DDPG + HER Reinforcement Learning model is used to reach the desired hole in a pattern, and fitness is checked.

Created software for the dimension analysis of Automobile Chassis using computer vision. Used the Yolo model to detect edges in a calibrated camera and projection matrix for dimension checking. Collaborated with Tata motors and software has been deployed in Jamshedpur branches.
