Divya Abhishek is the youngest elected Chairperson of the Southern India Regional Council of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India for the year 2023-2024. She is the youngest CMA to achieve this milestone in the history of the Institute since its inception.She is a Commerce graduate with Masters in Financial Management. Both graduation and post graduation (MBA) are from the University of Madras and also a Graduate of Law. A Rank Holder of both ICAI and ICSI, an Associate Member of ICMAI, Associate Member of ICSI and a Fellow Member of ICAI. Obtained certification in International Tax Law from Leiden University, Netherlands. All India 4th rank in Advanced Diploma in International Taxation from the Chartered Institute of Taxation, UK and Diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards from ACCA,London. Divya has been elected to the Southern India Regional Council of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India for the term 2023-2027.Divya has been elected as the youngest ever Chairperson Elect of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry Ladies Organization (FICCI FLO) Chennai for the year 2023-2024. She has spearheaded the Committee for Women Empowerment for Hindustan Chamber of Commerce. She has been elected as President of Women Empowerment Forum of India. The Andhra Chamber of Commerce, has recognized Divya for her contribution to the Financial sector with an Excellence Award. Divya is the Secretary of Society of Cost Accountants and the Treasurer of All India Taxpayers’ Association . She has been nominated as the First Secretary (Business Development & Trade Relations) to the Honorary Consul of Zambia in South India. Divya is also a Management Committee member of Shiv Nadar International School.Divya is a prolific speaker and has addressed over 1050 meetings. She has co-authored a book ‘Income Tax Ready Referencer’ and authored The Technical Guide on ‘Social Stock Exchange’ for the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. Divya Abhishek was the member of National Committee of Corporate Laws & Corporate Governance constituted by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India for the years 2021- 2023. She was also a coopted member of the Corporate Laws Committee of SIRC of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India from 2015 - 2022 and Committee on International Taxation (2018-19). She has been appointed as Woman Independent Director of many Companies. She holds the unique distinction as the Youngest Woman Independent Director ever to be appointed on the Board of Listed companies.
