• Explored the area of face detection and tracking and the performance of various algorithms currently existing. • Analyzed its usage in Augmented Reality for enhanced user experience.• Integrated the algorithm into Qualcomm’s existing framework.

Eye Detector (January – May 2013)• Worked in a team of 2, under Prof. Marios Savvides, to locate the exact positions of the two eyes in a frontal facial image. Studied the impact of various features like Histogram of Oriented Gradients and the use of correlation filters in the process to obtain a good estimate of the eye location.Profile Detector (January – May 2013)• Worked in a team of 5, under Prof. Marios Savvides, to identify if a face is frontal or profile. We have studied in detail the use of the Fukunaga-Koontz Transform to identify profile faces.Soft Biometrics (September – December 2012)• Worked in a team of 8, under Prof. Marios Savvides, on identifying ethnicity, gender and age of subjects, and using this information to improve face matching accuracy.

I was working with the Software Engineering Tools team of INCRC - SWETA. My one year work experience involved the following:• Worked with a team of 4 to develop a web application for the various calculations involved in substation engineering using .NET platform with C#. • Designed and developed an interactive modelling framework to reduce the engineering efforts of design engineers of cement industry using .NET platform with C# and WPF.• Analyzed and built a module for an add-in on Robot Studio for machine tending applications using .NET platform with C#.• Developed unit and system test cases and executed the same for 2 projects.• Documented the bidirectional traceability of the software development life cycle for 2 projects, both manually and using TFS.
