PI: Dr. Nouri NeamatiLab focused on preclinical drug discovery for small molecule anticancer and anti-HIV compoundsMy projects focused on preclinical small molecule anticancer drug discovery, cancer cell metabolism, cancer biology and signal transduction: - Identified several active compounds via high-throughput plate-based phenotypic screening for treating pancreatic cancer - Validated the mechanism of action of the small molecule compounds by western blots, metabolic profiling, immunoassays, cell survival/ toxicity studies and gene silencing experiments - Studied the effects of active lead compounds on oncogenic signaling, particularly cancer cell metabolism, oxidative stress and apoptosis - Performed safety and efficacy studies of the lead compound in mouse modelsSelected Publications:1.
