I am an aspiring physician with a commitment to promoting health equity and culturally sensitive care. Inspired by my grandmother's resilience in the face of healthcare challenges, I have developed a passion for addressing health disparities and advocating for underserved communities. My experiences have shaped me into a compassionate, collaborative, and resilient individual, dedicated to making a positive impact in healthcare.With a background in anthropology and human biology from Emory University and extensive research on health disparities, I have cultivated a unique perspective on the intersection of culture and healthcare. My clinical research spans several areas, including autism, diabetes, and cardiovascular health, with a focus on understanding the social and cultural factors that influence these conditions. Most notably, I have completed posters and presentations for the National Association of School Psychologists, International Society for Autism Research and the American Diabetes Association.I have worked with diverse populations, from mentoring freshmen at Emory University as a Resident Advisor to providing diabetes education for Emory employee's through CDC's Diabetes Prevention Program. Currently, my volunteer work at the Clearwater Free Clinic where I deliver health education to patients at risk for cardiovascular disease has further solidified my commitment to providing personalized, patient-centered care.My study abroad experience in Italy has broadened my understanding of global healthcare challenges, and I am eager to continue learning and growing in this field. As I embark on my medical school journey, I am excited to further develop my skills and knowledge, with the goal of becoming a compassionate and effective physician. I am particularly drawn to opportunities that allow me to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to innovative solutions in healthcare.
