Conducted 1.5 quarters of senior honors thesis project as an undergraduate researcher in Dr. Zanetti's Immunology lab at UCSD. The overall project involves an interdisciplinary concept of "immunogenic therapy": using miRNA production from B lymphocytes as a potential means of controlling gene expression of oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes for possible therapeutic uses against cancer. Implemented methods of transfection and mice fat pad injections for preliminary experiments in vivo. Mastered exosome extractions and Western blots. Mentored a high school student who shadowed me weekly.

Personal project involved observing and quantitatively analyzing if there were inflammatory responses of DYRK1A expression levels in microglia cells that could have an effect on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
