Following a round of cost savings my role as Regional Office Manager with Kier was been deleted from the company's structure.I spent this time exploring new opportunities/challenges in a variety of different roles. (please check my profile for details of my experience)

Responsible for 2 main offices in Linccoln and Middlesbrough and consultant and advisor for a number of the main sites across the eMBED Consortium. (eMBED being a contract formerly known as the Lead Provider Framework) providing services to NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups and GP practices across Yorkshire, Humberside and North Lincolnshire.Some of my duties include:• SHEQ (Safety Health Environment and Quality) and IT co-ordinator• Escalation point for all issues in relation to facilities, SHEQ, maintenance• Facilities Management• Employee engagement site ambassador/co-ordinator (covering a number of sites) • Coordination and distribution of local office communications.• Statutory compliance returns• Taking key lead role in ISO9001 and ISO14001 compliance audits• Leading Estates rationalisation for the eMBED contracts• Employee engagement site ambassador/co-ordinator (covering a number of sites)• Coordinate, generate and distribute local office communications, cascade routine business updates and maintain site notice boards. – especially the SHE alerts and circulars • Local Charity Champion (Covering multiple sites)• Landlord and contractor Liaison• Fire Warden• Trained DSE (Display Screen Equipment) assessor• PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) Liaison• IT equipment disposal through the relevant department(s) in accordance with WEEE directives• Branding Guideline champion• Events management and co-ordination (For local conferences at multiple sites)(The list isn't exhaustive!)

As Communications Manager my role includes communications at all levels, employee engagement, co-ordination of events, authoring draft “global” messages and newsletters for editorial approval, monitoring feedback channels, releasing updates to company intranet, liaison with external bodies, charity events... the list goes on! I also keep a close eye on social media and external news sites and share relevant and appropriate items with the teams.My responsibilities have been extended further since the offices in Lincoln relocated. I am now Office Safety Co-ordinator, DSE (Display Screen Equipment) assessor, Office Environment Co-ordinator, Tenants Association representative, Building/Office Management Liaison (liaising with the facilities management company we use), Fire Marshal for the building (as well as the office) and First Aider.

My work as a Business Analyst involves meeting a wide range of customers to discuss and capture their IT requirements. In doing this I have used my facilitation skills in workshops to analyse their needs. My role is then to consult with technical authorities in the IT division and, with their assistance, author rough order of magnitude (ROM) costs to feed into customers’ business plans to be then turned into projects. My current work involves a gap analysis to feed into the design of a new Storage Area Network (SAN) for the County Council. I am also analysing data to make recommendations on the rationalisation of the County Council’s software portfolio

As an Implementation manager I took responsibility for the refresh of old IT equipment for Lincolnshire County Council (LCC). This involved liaison with the IT management at the council and their “Directorate IT champions” to replace and roll out replacement Laptops, Desktops, Thin Client terminals and printers. This work involved managing resources and scheduling appointments directly with users, ensuring the correct levels of refresh stock were available for rollout and the asset management of any kit being refreshed and/or disposed of. I also took responsibility for providing equipment to several major device deployment projects including the council’s “New Ways of Working” programme, Thin Client rollout programme and the Windows 7 upgrade pilot.

My Solutions Architecture work involved meeting a wide range of customers both at Lincolnshire County Council and externally to discuss and capture their IT requirements. This work included:The rollout of Integris G2 (Web-based schools Management Information System) to over 350 primary and junior schools,Liaising and consulting with Microsoft for LCC’s pilot upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 I have also worked with clients external to LCC such as Schools and local businesses capturing and documenting their requirements.

In my role as Project Manager I have co-ordinated the delivery of several major projects for both LCC and internally for Mouchel as well as some minor works. One key project I managed involved a very high profile project for the County Council, to provide digital Audio-visual facilities within the Grade 2 listed Council Chamber and then integrating this system to a webcasting system.. This made the Council’s meetings available to any on-line viewer via a dedicated website.I also Project managed a bespoke Employee Data Validation system which was developed in house. This involved taking an extract from SAP payroll systems data and populating a database driven secure website for employees to validate their payroll and personal details before being imported back into the SAP payroll system.I have worked on a wide variety of other IT and telephony projects - The list goes on!!
