As Vice President at Weber Shandwick Worldwide, one of the world’s largest public relations agencies, I was responsible for developing and executing communications strategies to support the business goals of a number of health care clients from our Minneapolis office. Our practice provided public relations expertise in medical technology and other health care arenas and served large international clients, such as Medtronic and CIBA Vision, as well as small, domestic clients. During my tenure, I:• Led and managed the agency’s health care public relations practice, providing expertise in conceptualizing, developing and executing communications plans.• Developed media relations plan to recruit 500 patients for clinical trial.• Developed and managed comprehensive communications programs to support the international and national launches of a range of medical devices – from contact lenses to implantable device therapies.• Developed and executed comprehensive communications program to launch and build awareness of consumer-driven health care and the first new consumer-driven health care plan.• Gained broad local market and national media exposure for new medical therapies for severe incontinence, unexplained fainting and atrial fibrillation.• Wrote award-winning executive speeches.• Won high readership satisfaction for award-winning health and wellness member publication (circulation: 3 million) edited for one of nation’s largest managed care companies.
