International Case Team Member
During my university studies I was competitively selected to take part in the inaugural cohort of the UTS Case Team to train and participate in university business case competitions. As a member of the Case Team I undertook training to develop my skills in solving business case competitions. Our training involved developing our presentation skills, structured problem solving skills and teamwork skills and we were supported in our training through additional industry delivered workshops from consulting firms such as BCG, EY, KPMG & Accenture. Our training focused on preparing us to be able to rapidly break down a business problem, ideate solutions and then present our recommendations within a given time frame. Competitions varied in time from a couple of hours to 24 hour stretches. As part of the UTS Case Team I was fortunate to compete internationally in the 2019 Scotiabank International Case Competition at the Ivey Business School in London, Ontario, Canada
Intern | Strategy & Operations Consulting
Was competitively selected to participate in Deloitte's summer internship experience in their Core Business Operations practice. As part of this experience I was able to work across the health, utilities and FMCG space.I was involved with supporting the roll out and testing of the DeloitteASSIST AI assistant hospital call bell solution and also working with my fellow interns to develop a report and understanding into the prevalence of modern slavery and its impact on supply chains and procurement.
Program Group Leader
As a culmination of my 40K Globe experience I was competitively selected to become 1 of 3 senior Group Leaders that delivered the January 2017 40K Globe program, which saw a cohort of 150 Australian university students travel to rural India to work and deliver on various social impact projects. 40K Globe provided extensive training and mentorship to prepare for this role, which focused heavily on project management, facilitation, coaching and crisis management.I was responsible for directly overseeing and supporting 4 team leaders, and as a leadership group we were able to successfully deliver across 4 social impact projects amongst a district of cohort of 40 university students. The social impact projects we delivered and achieved our KPIs on were focused on maternal health, education and water and sanitation. My duties in this role beyond project management included managing the logistics of the program and the personal wellbeing and safety of team members, including responding to crises and emergencies as they occurred over the month. This opportunity enabled me to develop in these key areas: - Leadership - Coaching and Mentorship - Communication and Negotiation - Project management and logistics - Risk and Crisis management
Project Team Leader
As part of my 40K Globe experience I was fortunate to have been selected to become a team leader and was able to lead three teams of 4-7 Australian university students on various social impact projects in rural India, outside of Bangalore.40K Globe provided regular leadership and management training, as well as a 3 day immersion project and crisis management course, in order to prepare my team leader cohort and I to facilitate social impact projects on the ground. My leadership experiences as a team leader included the following projects:1. Leading a team of 4 university students to support and facilitate the roll out of a water filtration system and solar lighting system amongst the local communities we were living with. This resulted in successfully providing a number of community members with personal access to clean drinking water as well as having cheap and reliable lighting, when previously not available to them.2. Leading a team of 7 university students to setup and establish a 40K Plus Pod, which is an innovative and award winning after school education space that teaches local children English, through a tablet based game like experience. Our team was able to successfully locate a space, source supplies, complete a fit-out and recruit 30+ local children in the local community. We were able to achieve this within budget and on-time.3. My third experience as a team leader was again leading another team of 7 university students to setup and establish another 40K Plus Pod in a different community. We were again successful and able to achieve our project goals within budget and on-time.These opportunities enabled me to develop my leadership abilities, conflict resolution, strategic planning, project management and social enterprise knowledge.
Operations Intern
Supported the pre-program operations of 40K Globe in following up leads, interviewing and progressing participants of 40K Globe's social impact internships.I learnt how to use Salesforce to manage leads and drive conversions, communicate effectively with customers, and also developed my interviewing skills to assess potential participants and their fit for the program.
