BA(hons) BArch MA MSc PhD ARB IHBC FHEA FIPMI am a registered architect (ARB), accredited conservation professional (IHBC), Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and Fellow of the Institute of Place Management (FIPM). Following nearly a decade in professional practice working on both new and old buildings in historic contexts, in 2018 I received AHRC funding for my PhD project titled 'The impact of intangible heritage on architectural and building conservation practices in the UK: a socio-material outlook'. I am currently Senior Lecturer in Architecture at the Manchester School of Architecture (MSA), UK, where I teach within the Continuity Atelier. Outside of academia, I am an Academy Panellist on the RIBA Advanced Conservation Course where I lecture to delegates about intangible heritage and its relationship to built heritage.In 2023 I secured an AHRC Innovation Scholars Secondment grant to Historic England for my project 'Intangible heritage and design in historic contexts', where I will assist Historic England on the theme of intangible heritage and its relationship to place-shaping, to allow Historic England to better advise partners in ways that enhance all elements of historic character.
