With a strong passion for technology and innovation, and following 15 years successful consultancy experience, I completed a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management in 2018. Since then, I have been applying this expertise in my work with companies worldwide. I pride myself on building a reputation for applying ideation to generate, develop and communicate new concepts, understanding complex business requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions - leveraging cutting-edge process and technology to transform operational environments and create efficiencies. As a creative and curious individual, I am always seeking new ways to solve problems, and in 2005 I set up my own successful consultancy, Hexworks, in Australia, offering managed services to small-to-medium-sized enterprises.     Be FOCUSful is building a community to help MSP owners and leaders to harness their focus, concentrate on the right actions, and to unlock the power of your people. Running an MSP is hectic and staff get pulled in multiple directions constantly. We have to jump in to fight fires, help others, and get out urgent quotes. Despite our best intentions, quarterly rocks and long to-do lists, we get distracted down rabbit holes, work on urgent but not important tasks, or just can’t focus on what needs to be done with incoming phone calls, chats and interruptions. Our goal is to increase understanding and awareness of how our poor human brains work, share tips on how to work better individually, but also to consider how we structure and run our businesses to support the ability of our team to focus. Be FOCUSful was born through personal experience of its founder, David Jackson who started his Melbourne-based MSP in 2006 (and who has been avoiding doing his ConnectWise/Manage/PSA timesheets from 2006 til now 😬) and struggled with getting  things done. After selling the business and then working with hundreds of other MSPs, he discovered that distraction and inability to focus or execute was much more abundant in the industry than he thought.  Finally, after an ADHD diagnosis in 2024, David discovered an entire group of other people with similar problems, and found many tools and techniques that were helpful – and more importantly, many of these tools are helpful for everyone who struggles with focus and distraction.
