D.J. Amerson is a visual storyteller who specializes in artistic quality through technical knowledge. He started his career as a journalist and worked his way up from a local TV affiliate to producing at the network level. He covered everything from Super Bowls to the crisis in Benghazi. While attending the filmmaking program at New York Film Academy's Los Angeles Campus, D.J. was also hard at work in the business. He directed short films and major music videos on the studio back lots and created internal promotional content for major corporations like Marriott, Hyatt, and DeltaD.J. now holds the role of Executive Producer at Ko-Mar Productions - a top tier production company based in South Florida. There he directs national commercials, documentaries, and films while managing creative and logistics teams in producing long and short from content for an international client base.Although he's a classically trained director, his intimate knowledge of every level of the filmmaking process is what sets him apart in the industry. His large scale production experience as a DP, Gaffer, Editor, Colorist, Photographer, and Media Manager allow him to plan and execute his projects with confidence and efficiency.D.J. has produced, directed, and edited music videos, commercials, and short films on major studio back lots; as well as live shows like YouTube Live Onstage. He has also worked for Netflix, Yahoo, Fusion, and ABC News, including Good Morning America, Nightline, This Week, and World News – Among many other stops along the way. His media experience, production coordination and top-flight knowledge of the latest industry technology make him a powerful asset in the advertising/film industry. D.J. is also certified with the Federal Aviation Administration as a Remote Pilot and is a Founding Member of the Certified Remote Pilots Association of America (CRPAA). He’s been in the drone/aerial branch of the production industry since 2012.
