I did my PhD in high-energy astrophysics and worked with data of the H.E.S.S. telescopes and also it's successor, the CTA, which was in development during that time. My main topics were the reconstruction of the cosmic-ray proton spectrum with data from the H.E.S.S. experiment and the analysis and improvement of the readout electronics of one of the possible camera candidates of the CTA. During that time, I found my interest in data analysis and programming, either on very large data sets with the help of HPC-clusters or for the readout electronics on embedded systems.After my PhD, I switched completely the topic of my work and started with the development of safety systems in the field of automation. However, I still use my skills as programmer and data scientist: I develop the firmware for the safety devices on embedded systems, investigate their structure with regard to their functional safety and analyze the accumulating data during development and operation. Furthermore, I do theoretical work on the implementation of complex safety applications, like robotics or automated guided vehicles.
