With my experience as a UConn Connects mentor, I have embraced the opportunity to guide and support students facing academic challenges. This role, recognized as an internship, has allowed me to develop and apply various skills while making a tangible difference in students' educational journeys. As a mentor, I conduct regular one-on-one sessions to provide personalized academic and emotional support, assist students in setting and working towards achievable goals, monitor their progress, and connect them with additional university resources. In addition to my mentorship role, I am an honors student at the University of Connecticut, majoring in General Studies and minoring in Political Science and Sociology. My academic commitment is reflected in my 3.67 GPA and recognition through the prestigious Oaklawn Foundation Scholarship and the Class of 1945 Scholarship. I am also an active leader in the Honors Council and the Board of Associate Directors, contributing to the strategic direction and policies of the Honors Program. Beyond academics, I am passionate about community service and youth development, demonstrated by my experience as a volunteer firefighter and EMT and my directorship at Kids in Sports. I am keen on leveraging my experiences in educational leadership, youth development, and community service in a role that involves teaching, program development, or community outreach.
