Presided over all meetings of the Assembly and the Executive Board, chaired IFATSEA’s Operations Committee and provided leadership and guidance to the Strategic Committee, the Executive Board and IFATSEA’s Regional Directors. During my tenure I:- Led a review of the Federation’s strategic objectives;- Championed constitutional amendments fully incorporating the Federation’s four regions into the Executive Board; - Led the implementation of a more formal financial accounting and reporting; and- Launched policy changes to streamline IFATSEA’s governance and administration.

The NAV CANADA Advisory Committee is mandated to analyze and make reports and recommendations to the Board of Directors on any matter affecting the ANS.The Advisory Committee can identify and research pertinent issues at the request of the Board or of its own initiative. The members of the committee, all of whom are aviation professionals and distinguished in their individual areas of expertise, represent a broad cross-section of Canada’s aviation community. They include professional pilots, air traffic controllers, flight service specialists, technicians, airport and air service operators, and officers of international, national and regional aviation organizations.

Principal officer (CEO) responsible for all administrative and labour relations activities (chief negotiator) within the Local Union. Responsibilities include providing strategic leadership to the Union’s volunteer Executive Board, tactical leadership to the Business Representatives and shop stewards and the day‐to‐day management of the Business Office. My accomplishments include:- Leading timely and successful negotiations with major employers (Treasury Board of Canada and NAV CANADA);- Making teamwork and effective communications a priority for negotiating team training and development;- Introducing board governance training and a self-assessment tool for the Executive Board;- Leading modernization of Local Union policy manual for better management and governance; and- Developing first internal human resource policy to ensure consistent HR practices with the Local Union.
