• Program CMM for part measurements.• Maintain CMM and related tools.• Measure parts and analyze layout data.• Perform Annual Layout per Customer specific requirements.• Support PPAP approvals for Customers.• Prepare and analyze MSA for gages.• Provide CAD models for engineering changes, gages, and part modifications.• Analyze engineering drawings and schematics for gage and part dimensioning, review, and problem resolution.• Knowledge of customer specific requirements (CSR) necessary through advanced training.

• CMM Programming using Calypso, GearPro & Geomet Software.• Receives orders as to inspections required and performs work with a minimum amount of supervision.• Plans own work sequence, procedures and interpret datums referencing part prints.Performs layout and inspections by determining proper reference points and checking all dimensions from such reference points.• Use shop mathematics, handbooks and proprietary formulas for calculations as required in performance of inspection duties.• Inspects gages, jigs, fixtures and trial or experimental products in rough or finished state to extracting specifications and make recommendations for corrections or improvement.• Prepares necessary records and reports to insure proper follow-up on variations of dimensions, both within and outside specified tolerances.• Adjust and makes repairs to various inspections tools and makes recommendations for purchase of replacement or new tools.• Responsible for process inspections as well as vendor inspections.• Problem solving techniques using GD&T and CMM Programming to troubleshoot failed units. • Recommendations for root cause is essential.

• Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). • Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock. • Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs. • Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads. • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards. • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs. • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

• Identify the product’s critical processes and verify appropriate process controls are in place at the receiving inspection department.• Use of data and proven industry tools to enhance the speed at which product moves through inspection.• Improve, monitor, and report receiving inspection performance to management.• Implement error / mistake proofing for manufacturing processes.• Identify best practices for inspection design / processes and flow back to manufacturer's or suppliers.• Perform problem solving and root cause analysis.• Program and maintain Zeiss CMM Programs to meet new rev changes.• Write new programs from solid models on jobs which would improve inspection times and have proven to be more efficient on CMMs.• Keep CMM operators up to date on training and changes implemented by Zeiss on their Calypso software so that all measurements made are accurate and repeatable.• Train operators who have shown drive and initiative how to program the Zeiss CMMs.
