Improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people in Reading while ensuring value for money.Responsibilities covered all aspects of the commissioning cycle, providing outcome-focussed services in line with RBC's Corporate Plan, while working within statutory Local Authority, Council and Government guidelines. Duties included planning/strategy responsibility, procurement, contract management, needs and market analysis, budget management, undertaking tenders, managing high risk procurements, market management, accessing resources/placements for children and young people including residential home placements, foster placements, mother and baby accommodation/assessments, supported living and alternative provision. I conducted high quality contract management for all services within the team’s portfolio. Reporting directly to Senior Leadership teams I wrote and presented various briefings, reports, proposals, etc. while liaising directly with committees & Councillors. I specialised in support for children and young people with disabilities & special educational needs.
