DJ Chuck T is hailed as a pioneer and trailblazer in the Carolina Hip-Hop music scene. After starting his journey in the music industry in 1998 as a recording artist, DJ Chuck T released an album entitled “843 Baller” underneath the name Priest, and quickly gained notoriety in the South Carolina music scene. Before hanging up his mic in 2001, he worked with notable southern artists such as Pastor Troy and Three Six Mafia and had gained the interest of then Epic Records A&R Joe Cerini. For the next 2 years DJ Chuck T tried his hand at producing, engineering, and artist management before he finally landed a job at local Charleston radio Station Hot 98 as a production assistant. While working at the radio station he picked up an interest in the art DJing and eventually bought a pair of turntables and fell in love art form. He began making mixtapes, DJing parties, and was featured on BET’s Rap City and MTV’s Mixtape Mondays on numerous occasions. Since 2003 DJ Chuck T has won more than 35+ awards for DJing and his critically acclaimed “Down South Slangin’” mixtape series is considered a staple in southern Hip-Hop. After 20+ years in the music industry DJ Chuck T still actively DJs and breaks records. In 2019 he founded The Foundation Of Music, which helps aspiring artists learn the music business. In 2021 he signed a contract with the Charlotte Hornets to organize & host the NBA's first ever Music Industry Night.
