Providing support for the Political Science education en research staff, affiliated with the Political Science department of the University of Amsterdam. Tasks vary from helping teachers with the digital learning environment, syllabus and planning to thinking about the contents of the curriculum and ancillary matters; and from proof reading scientific articles to taking part in selection committees for new colleagues. Other work includes, but is not limited to, researching education efficiency among Bachelor students and keeping in touch with students through various social media platforms. Moreover, I translate work from Dutch to English for, among other things, the Commission on Democratization and Decentralization that has been set-up university wide. Lastly, since mid-2016 I manage several student assistants working at the department.

Policy assistant regarding security, European policy and congress planningDuring a six-month internship, I gained experience with regards to various passenger information systems, security in aviation and European and Dutch security issues and policy. I co-wrote policy proposals, advisory pieces, talking points for speeches and actual speeches for high-level meetings. Moreover, I helped organize several seminars and an international three-day symposium on the use of passenger information to prevent terrorist travel. My work for these meetings was both content driven and of a more organizing sort.

During this short period, I initiated a marketing campaign for various Bachelors and Masters given at the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences at the University of Amsterdam. This campaign was aimed primarily at potential new students outside of the university and involved designing hard copy promotion material, touring Dutch high schools and education fairs and starting a social media campaign aimed at foreign students and Dutch high school students.

Bar, wardrobe and reception employee, with an emphasis on hostmanship. More than two years at the Royal Concert Hall in Amsterdam have not only further underscored my love for classical music, it has taught me much regarding hard work during long hours with visitors that are mostly (but certainly not always) gracious. During the last year of my employment I regularly lead a multi-head bar or wardrobe team during concerts and events.

As a group, we wrote pieces for the JD party program about, amongst other things, domestic security issues and issues regarding (illegal and tolerated) drugs in the Netherlands. We also organized evenings to discuss these issues with interested and interesting people.
