Chief administrative officer of Elizabeth Huth Coates Library. Had overall responsibility for Library’s collections, programs and services including long-range planning and development, advocacy, policy, personnel, budget, acquisitions, facilities and technology. Chaired faculty senate for 3 years (2009-2012); chaired Campus Master Plan Committee. Served as campus copyright officer. Oversaw professional staff of 13, support staff of 12. Total library budget was $3.36 million, $1.57 million of which is devoted to collections and access.

Oversaw the operations of a unit that included the library, media services, and information technology services (including academic and administrative computing, network, telephone and cable services, and instructional technology).

Directed all aspects of library operations. Oversaw the construction and furnishing of a $16 million, 56,000 s.f. new library which opened in March 1999. Migrated from the Horizon library management system to III in 1999, in a collaborative measure with Roanoke College. Sponsored a successful effort to include technology and research skills requirements in a new general education program.

Participated in strategic planning initiatives, policy formulation, resource allocation, fund-raising activities, and program evaluation. Represented the libraries in appropriate forums. Reporting units included Collection Development, Interlibrary Loans, Technical Services, and three branch libraries: Overall supervisory responsibility was 19 faculty professionals and 21 paraprofessionals. Oversaw the completion of a $14 million renovation and expansion of the J. D. Williams Library. The project was completed in August 1996.

As one of three A.U.L.'s, coordinated collection development and management for collections at four libraries on three campuses serving the College of Arts and Sciences, Schools of Business, Education, Nursing and Social Work and the Graduate School. Total supervisory responsibility was 18 professionals.

Administered ordering, payment and receipt of all library materials, managing a budget of over $2.5 million. Directed three units, including orders, serials, and binding/shelf preparation. Worked closely with the library's six bibliographers to ensure that orders were filled and paid promptly and effectively. Tracked library expenditures using a combination of NOTIS reports and LOTUS spreadsheet data. Supervised a staff of 19. Served as primary library contact with monograph, serial and binding vendors. Participated in library strategic planning effort.

Marketed Faxon's systems and services to college, university and research-level public libraries in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey.

Reese Library, Augusta College

Acquisitions, Collection Development and Circulation. Supervised 7.25 FTE Library Assistants and 25 students. Responsible for preliminary implementation of SIRSI Unicorn automated circulation system; oversaw development of collection profile for approval plan.
