Most couple’s therapists are intimidated by addiction cases, most recovery specialists are intimidated by couples, I am intimidated by neither. As an attachment therapist, I want to specialize in treating addiction in a marriage and family context. I understand the impact of betrayal trauma and how it erodes romantic bonds; one of the great levers in recovery. I can demystify the addiction experience and help clients build networks of support. I have used my interpersonal skills to coach athletes, train volunteers, and mentor youth. My technical skill set, systemic mind, and empathetic heart would be a great addition to any diverse team. When I can buy into an organization's vision, I'm 100% committed.I identify as the eternal learner; always reading good books like Beyond Order by Jordan Peterson or Atomic Habits by James Clear. I am a highly-intelligent deep thinker, I relish philosophy podcasts and pondering ideas and their application. Self-driven, and goal-oriented, I love the satisfaction of achieving my potential—which is why I have competed in six marathons. I am committed to listening and understanding others, especially when there are diverse viewpoints to learn from. My ability to civilly engage with varying perspectives has become a rare asset in today's world. As a native of St. George, Utah my hope is to return to the mountains and red rock of Utah. I have been happily married for five years and have two beautiful girls. In my family of origin, I have experience with severe mental health, addiction, suicide, trauma, and divorce. These refining experiences have led me to my career path—and my ultimate goal of owning my own private practice which will specialize in serving couples recovering from the effects of addiction.
