Working for the Office of Innovation and Technology, on behalf of the Department of Licenses and Inspections, I’ve taken on a technical lead role involving GIS applications within the department. During this time, I’ve continued to rework and improve the ETL applications maintained by the unit, lead the preparation of building data for integration into the new eCLIPSE Database, built custom geoprocessing tools in python, explored applications of using aerial lidar to identify structural deficiencies in buildings, and served as a resource for querying departmental data for internal and external reporting.

Working for the Office of Innovation and Technology, on behalf of the Department of Licenses and Inspections, I supported many tasks that integrated departmental data with GIS applications. One major task involved implementing ETL workflows that regularly move data from departmental SQL databases into a shared city-wide GIS Enterprise. These workflows revolve around Oracle SQL queries and Python scripts. Other tasks included pulling reports for the Director of Planning, helping implement a process for maintaining city-wide building planimetrics, and experimenting with predictive indicators of building conditions

The primary focus of this position was to demonstrate new and innovative design and planning workflows working across platforms in GIS and design technologies to examine not only visual representation of designs but also their impacts on both the natural and built environment. This position included working in ESRI ArcGIS Pro 1.0 and 1.1 to develop scenes based off ESRI's "City Information Model" technique to combine two and three-dimensional data. This involved extruding 3D buildings in ArcGIS Pro using CGA based symbology; developing geoprocessing tools in ModelBuilder for ArcGIS Pro; using the “Mosaic” and “Split Raster” tools to import large, textured terrains into ESRI CityEngine 2014; building file geodatabase-feature classes from XML data; and building scenes in Autodesk 3D Studio Max 2016 as inventories for 3D objects and models.
