As Supply Chain Engineer I independently worked on multiple process optimization projects within different departments of Hoefnagels. One of these projects was the development of a custom made online ordering portal for the European dealer network. Where the interests of multiple stakeholders where united and optimizations for both the internal organization and the dealers where realized.

During my final thesis for the master Management of Technology I researched the possibilities and effects to the supply chain of CascoTotaal when incorporating consumer choices into the process of industrialised housing construction.

Since 2008, small and medium enterprises (SME’s) that perform maintenance and component repairs in the aviation industry are severely affected by the economic crisis. Cost and lead time reduction can make the difference between bankruptcy and surviving. We argue that characteristics such as lack of resources, and low product volumes, which can be associated with SME’s together with the unpredictable nature of MRO, make it increasingly difficult for these companies to effectively incorporate process improvement initiatives. Several Dutch and foreign partner SME’s involved in the MRO of aircraft or aircraft components have therefore partnered with the University on this project. The research, which involves various participating companies as well as knowledge centres and expertise from around the country, was granted with a two-year grant from the so called “Stichting Innovatie Alliantie” (SIA). The two-year project has as main goal to improve performances of smaller and medium MRO’s. Along the way, participating companies will also be equipped with improved performance measurement methods to assess their current situation and improvement potential. Academic literature and best practices from various industries will be used to tailor process improvement methods to this challenging environment and will result in a custom made toolkit for the industry.
